The blessing of 9-foot-tall Statue of Jesus on the Cross was proudly imparted by His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, on Saturday evening, 17th September 2016.
This Statue of Jesus on the Cross was blessed by the Holy Apostle at the Apparition ground of Our Lady of Katunayake's Shrine. Subsequently, the Most Holy Apostle officiated the evening Solemn Vespers, which was conducted in honour of the Holy Cross.
At the end of the evening Solemn Vespers, opportunity to venerate the Holy Cross was given. A special Statue of the Holy Cross was placed at the left side of the main podium for this purpose. His Holiness Apostle Rohan Lalith Aponso, who first of all came to the place where the Statue was placed, offered a prayer for a while by placing his arms on the Statue. Subsequently, the Most Holy Apostle venerated the Holy Cross and afforded the same opportunity to the devotees also.
